The reporter recently visited the Shenjiazhuang farmland, Wenquan Street, Anning City, and saw the shredder was crushing and loading straws that otherwise would be discarded. Fine and easily transportable straw scraps were then shipped to feed companies for processing into livestock feed. In Anning, surplus straws become useful feed and fertilizer after professional treatment.
Anning's straws transformed from agricultural "waste" to "food" for raising livestock in this way. It is reported that since 2021, Anning Material Recycling Corporation affiliated with Anning Supply and Marketing Cooperative, has made extensive use of straws with government subsidies and the company's operation.
Given the rose stalk with thorns difficult to be crushed into feed directly, Anning Material Recycling Corporation raised nearly 1.5 million yuan to build a decomposition center, covering around 2000 square meters in Fengyi Village Bajie Street in Anning. Rose stalks can be specifically crushed and fermented into composts at this decomposition center.
According to statistics, in 2021, Anning city has accomplished the collection of over 6000 tons of various straws, with 134,000 mu of land directly returned and 40,718 tons of straws utilized for the feed of livestock. The comprehensive utilization rate of straws had achieved at 95.27%.
