Recently, prices for Thai Volcano durians at the Kunming Haiguangxing Fruit Wholesale Market in the Xiaoshao community has been stable, with Grade A durians priced at around 560 yuan per box, prompting many citizens to place group orders. As a major fruit wholesale market in Southwest China, Haiguangxing handles about 5,000 tons of produce a day and is also encouraging nearby residents to try their hand at daigou (proxy purchasing) businesses.

Leveraging its proximity to Changshui Airport, the surrounding area is already home to over 30 mid- to high-end hotels, including the Hilton. Phase III of the Airport Business Plaza has launched its tenant recruitment, with plans for 1,112 quality apartments and 86 street-facing retail shops. Airport hotels are vigorously developing “accommodation plus local cuisine” experiences. The Wyndham Dian Zhong Airport Weijing Hotel has launched a seasonal flower banquet, and its chef, Liu Xiaotao, won an award at the 2026 Kunming Employees’ Vocational Skills Competition with the traditional Yunnan dish and the innovative Yunnan dish. The flower banquet is becoming a new highlight for attracting transit passengers and business travelers, contributing to the development of a “Blossoming Landscape, Lakeside New Town.”
