Dian Zhong New Area Holds Voluntary Tree-Planting Activity Themed "Beautifying the Lakefront Spring City and Greening the Blossoming Landscape"

On June 5, more than 200 officials and staff members from Dian Zhong New Area carried out a voluntary tree-planting activity themed "Beautifying the Lakefront Spring City and Greening the Blossoming Landscape" at the Baowan Logistics plot on Airport Avenue, taking concrete action to strengthen the ecological foundation and protect lucid waters and lush mountains.

At the planting site, participants worked together in a coordinated and efficient manner, planting more than 300 saplings, including North American red maple, ginkgo, and Pistacia weinmannifolia. The selected tree species combine ornamental and practical value, are well suited to the plateau climate, have high survival rates, and can effectively enrich the area's greenery layers and improve its ecological landscape.

Guided by the implementation of the guiding principles of the Central Urban Work Conference and the Kunming Municipal Committee's plan to build a "Lakefront Spring City and Blossoming Landscape," Dian Zhong New Area has vigorously advanced the development of a greener and more beautiful new area. Over the past three years, it has completed 568,400 square meters of green space, built 45 "pocket parks," 18 green and beautiful communities, and 11 kilometers of greenways, planted approximately 13,000 trees, and added 431,300 square meters of shrubs and ground cover. In 2025, 83,550 square meters of new urban green space was added, significantly improving the living environment.

Leaders of the New Area emphasized on site that efforts should remain focused on the goal of building a "Lakefront Spring City, Blossoming Landscape" uphold ecological priority and refined construction and management, and closely integrate greening upgrades with urban renewal, environmental improvement, and people's well-being. Continued efforts should be made to revitalize idle urban spaces and expand the green ecological footprint. With leaders setting an example, the New Area will encourage public participation in planting and protecting greenery, continuously enhance the city's appearance and cultural depth, polish its image as an ecologically livable urban area where mountains and waters are harmoniously integrated, and enable the public to share in the benefits of ecological development.

Yang Dongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the New Area, as well as Bao Xu, Duan Hongbo, and Yang Wanhong, members of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Directors of the Management Committee of the New Area, attended the activity.
