"2025 Kunming Future Transportation Development Forum" Held in Dian Zhong New Area

On August 11th and 12th, the "2025 Kunming Future Transportation Development Forum," jointly hosted by the Kunming Municipal People's Government, the Department of Transport of Yunnan Province, the Dian Zhong New Area Management Committee, and Kunming University of Science and Technology, was held in the Dian Zhong New Area. The forum, themed "Transportation Empowers the Industry, Intelligence Drives the Future," focused on future transportation sectors such as intelligent networking and the low-altitude economy. It discussed industry development trends and market prospects, established a platform for exchange and cooperation, and brought together the strengths of government, industry, academia, and research to chart a new blueprint for the high-quality development of the future transportation industry.
Mr. Khenethong Sisouvong, former Vice Chairman of the Laos-China Cooperation Committee, attended the opening ceremony. Su Bo, Deputy Director of the Economic Committee of the 13th CPPCC National Committee and Director of the National Intelligent Manufacturing Expert Committee, and Luo Junjie, Executive Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation, delivered keynote speeches. Yang Dongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Dian Zhong New Area, and Mr. Pongdong Paxaphacdy, Consul General of Laos in Kunming, delivered speeches.
The forum showcased five technological achievements, including the "One-Net Integrated Smart Inspection Platform," the "Green and Beautiful Corridor: Transportation Large Model," and the "Intelligent Guidance and Proactive Prevention and Control System for Vehicle-Road Collaboration for Highland Mountain Expressway Operation Safety." A concentrated signing ceremony for investment promotion projects in Dian Zhong New Area for the third quarter was held, with a total contracted value of 3.5 billion yuan. Additionally, inauguration ceremonies were held for the "Yunnan Province International Joint Laboratory of Intelligent Connected Transportation," the "Sub-center of the National Engineering Research Center for Solid Waste Resource Utilization," and the "Haiguangxing ASEAN·Yunnan Fresh Fruit Processing and Trading Center."
During this forum, a seminar on unmanned logistics distribution and several parallel forums were held, focusing on topics such as intelligent connected vehicles on high-altitude terrain, aerospace intelligent mobility, and the role of capital in supporting the industry. Experts and scholars from renowned universities, research institutions, and industry enterprises gathered to share cutting-edge insights and jointly explore pathways for financial capital to empower the development of future transportation.
Focusing on the innovation frontiers in the fields of smart transportation and future industries, Yunnan is leveraging intelligent transportation as an engine to drive the deep integration and application of technologies such as big data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing with existing transportation advantages, empowering the high-quality development of the transportation industry.
