Recently, the Dian Zhong New Area Market Supervision Bureau launched a comprehensive post-holiday safety inspection of local farmers' markets. The inspection covered more than 120 food businesses and identified and rectified 19 food safety risks, ensuring the safety of the public's "vegetable basket."
The safety checks focused on edible agricultural products such as vegetables, fruits, fresh meat, bulk foods, and ready-to-eat products. Inspections included verifying supplier credentials, health management systems for employees, the "three defenses" facilities (disease prevention, fire prevention, and theft prevention), product shelf life, public price displays for essential goods, and the calibration of measuring instruments in use. The aim was to further standardize the operating order of the farmers' markets and create a trustworthy shopping environment for consumers.
As of now, the inspections have covered over 120 food businesses, identified 19 food safety risks, pushed 33 businesses to correct pricing issues, and checked more than 140 electronic scales. Any problems identified during the inspections have been promptly addressed by the Market Supervision Bureau.
