On January 13th, Dong Shukui, Honorary President of the China Association for Small & Medium Commercial Enterprises and former Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and his delegation visited Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area for inspection and exchanges. Yang Dongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area, participated in the activity.

The inspection team toured the Planning Exhibition Hall of Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area to learn about the urban planning and economic development in Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area and also visited Zhongguancun Electronics Zone (Kunming) Technology Industrial Park to inspect the industrial development and operation of the industrial park.

Yang expressed that as a national new area, Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area boasts advantageous locations, open platforms, abundant factors, land space, and other advantages. Based on the requirement of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Yunnan Province, Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area "strives to become the important engine for high-quality economic development in Yunnan Province." Focusing on key industries, including aviation manufacturing and service, biomedicine, electronic information, new materials, and high-end equipment manufacturing. Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area extends industrial chains with targeted investment promotion, the regional economic operation shows an upward trend, and the regional GDP is higher than the average in Yunnan Province. With the development of the Kunming Changshui International Airport's extension and renovation project, Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area is comprehensively developing aviation networks and air-land intermodal integrated transportation service systems radiating to South Asia and Southeast Asia and connecting Eurasia. Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area, with increasingly prominent advantages, is becoming the main battlefield of Yunnan for undertaking the industrial transfer.

Dong hoped that both sides would continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges.
