In order to promote the construction of the Future Transportation Science City of Yunnan, on Dec. 10th, Yang Dongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area, held a symposium with Xu Zhiyuan, Director of Information Institute of China Academy of Transportation Science, Wang Yi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of China Railway Yunnan Construction Investment Co., Ltd, and his delegation for exchanges.

At the symposium, the person in charge of the Administration Bureau of Yunnan Dian Zhong Science City introduced the basic information about Yunnan's Future Transportation Science City. Relevant people in charge of China Academy of Transportation Science, China Railway Yunnan Construction Investment, China Railway EryuanEngineering Group Co. Ltd (CREEC), and China Railway Changjiang Transport Design Group Co. Ltd (CRECG) expressed their suggestions on the top-level design of the Future Transportation Science City of Yunnan and application for pilot projects to strengthen China's transportation.

Yang noted that Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area will fully leverage the advantages of serving as the international transportation hub to South Asia and Southeast Asia based on "two resources and two markets" at home and abroad, enhance communication with the China Academy of Transportation Science, China Railway Yunnan Construction Investment, and others, and coordinate resources from all parties so as to plan a number of sound projects for the construction and development of Yunnan Dian Zhong Science City and accelerate the launch of many large projects. The China-South Asia Expo Intelligent Transportation Forum will continuously be held to draw capital, talent, and other essential resources for constructing Yunnan Dian Zhong Science City with joint solid efforts.

Xu said that Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area should make good plans for strategic planning and industrial layout based on its strategic positioning and geographical advantages, highlight the industrial demonstration and leadership, gather industrial ecological spaces radiating South Asia and Southeast Asia, and select pilot projects of strengthening the transport in China with distinctive advantages in order better to facilitate the construction of Yunnan Dian Zhong Science City.

Wang expressed that the construction of the Future Transportation Science City of Yunnan is of great importance with profound influence. China Railway Group will integrate its advantageous resources, follow the policy guidance, and build cooperation mechanisms with Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area in terms of planning design, industrial introduction, a guarantee of factors of the Future Transportation Science City of Yunnan, and the plan and implementation of pilot projects to strengthen China's transportation.
