On July 18th, Yang Dongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area, met with Zhang Guoxing, Vice President of Canadian Solar Inc., and his delegation. Both sides exchanged views on the enterprise's investment layout in the photovoltaic industry, including photovoltaic modules and PV cell manufacturing projects, in order to jointly accelerate the development of emerging industries.

Yang noted that in the context of actively responding to climate change globally and implementing China's "dual carbon" strategy to promote green and low-carbon development, Yunnan's photovoltaic industry is entering a golden development period. As the only national-level new area in the province, Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area has prominent advantages in geographic location, space, opening-up and hub, with the rate of allocation of factors among the highest in Yunnan. With unprecedented opportunities, enormous potential, and broad investment prospects of Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area, enterprises are cordially welcomed to develop in Kunming City and Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area. Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area at all levels will provide all-round and high-quality services on multi-levels for investment and settlement of enterprises and offer targeted policy support and potent factor guarantees, allowing enterprises to develop free of concerns.

After gaining an in-depth understanding of the industrial development layout and prospects of Kunming City and Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area, Zhang said that Kunming City and Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area have strong momentum and apparent advantages in industrial development. He hopes to build a closer connection with Kunming City and Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area and achieve cooperation as soon as possible.
