In recent years, Jianchuan County has stepped up comprehensive conservation and governance of Jianhu Lake, increased funds for more ecological projects in Jianhu Lake basin, carried out sewage interception and treatment projects of Jianhu Lake, and built lakeside ecological wetlands. The ecological environment of Jianhu wetland has seen continuous improvements with increased biodiversity. 600 mu (around 40 hectares) of ottelia acuminatas community has been restored, with 268 species of birds observed.
